The same blend, weight, and yardage as our Texas Tweed naturals...but with the white Rambouillet or Delaine merino wool dyed first...prior to blending with dyed mohair. This process allows for intense, saturated colors and and allows for the creation of many color way options. It is known as "dry dyeing"....the blending of previously dyed fibers at the carder, or pin drafter, prior to spinning. It also allows for more consistent colors in individual skeins across each batch.
We use Greener Shades dyes- environmentally safe, GOTS qualifying, no heavy metals.
Our labeling details the fiber blend and "pasture of origin" of each yarn...providing the handcraft artist with a true sense of place for their projects.
Our yarns are minimally processed, no harsh chemicals, with a bit of the Texas range included. We think it is perfectly imperfect. Thank you for giving it a home in your stash. And, thank you for supporting Texas wool and mohair producers. This is indeed "The Yarn Our Land Made".
